DVD Identifier è un programma in grado di identificare i supporti DVD (dvd+r, dvd+r DL, dvd+rw, dvd+rw DL, dvd-r, dvd-r DL, dvd-rw e dvd-ram). Queste informazioni contengono una varietà di parametri quale le informazioni del produttore del disco e la reale velocità di scrittura. Anche se queste informazioni sono stampate solitamente sull'imballaggio, la marca può differire dal fornitore reale, oppure potrebbero addirittura mancare alcune informazioni.

dvd identifier retrieves and interprets the pre-recorded information that is present on dvd (dvd+r, dvd+rw, dvd-r, dvd-rw, dvd-ram), hd dvd (hd dvd-r, hd dvd-rw, hd dvd-ram) and blu-ray (bd-r, bd-re). This information contains a variety of parameters such as disc manufacturing information and supported write speeds. Even though some of this information is usually printed on the packaging, the brand name may differ from the actual manufacturer or sometimes there might not even be any packaging information at all.
