Parted Magic impiega i programmi core di GParted e Parted per gestire le attività di partizionamento con facilità, che unito ad altri software utili (ad esempio Partimage, TestDisk, Truecrypt, Clonezilla, G4L, SuperGrubDisk, ddrescue, ecc ...) fornisce un ottimo set di informazioni a vantaggio dell'utente. Include una vasta collezione di tools per i filesystem, supporta: btrfs, ext2, ext3, ext4, fat16, fat32, hfs, hfs+, jfs, linux-swap, ntfs, reiserfs, reiser4, e xfs. Caratteristiche principali: formatta hard disk interni ed esterni; Sposta, copia, crea, elimina, espande e comprime le partizioni del disco rigido; clona il disco rigido per creare un backup completo; testa l'hard disk per prevenire eventuali crash; testa la memoria per verificare se ci sono dei settori danneggiati; effettua il benchmark del computer per valuare le prestazioni.

The Parted Magic OS employs core programs of GParted and Parted to handle partitioning tasks with ease, while featuring other useful software (e.g. Partimage, TestDisk, Truecrypt, Clonezilla, G4L, SuperGrubDisk, ddrescue, etc…) and an excellent set of info to benefit the user. An extensive collection of file system tools are also included, as Parted Magic supports the following: btrfs, ext2, ext3, ext4, fat16, fat32, hfs, hfs+, jfs, linux-swap, ntfs, reiserfs, reiser4, and xfs. Parted Magic requires at least a i586 processor and 312MB of RAM to operate or 175MB in "Live" mode.
